Stokes County Board of Elections Member Arrested on a Dozen Sexual Offense Charges with a Child

 

Raleigh, NC – On Wednesday, August 12, 2020, special agents with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s (SBI) Northern Piedmont District office arrested Harold Lester Mabe, 63, at his home in Stokes County at approximately 6:45 am.  Mabe is a member of the Stokes County Board of Elections.  He has been charged with 12 counts of statutory sexual offense with a child by an adult.  He was issued a $1 million dollar secured bond after going before a magistrate in Stokes County.

 

The SBI began its investigation at the request of the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office on August 6, 2020.  If anyone has any additional information, please call the SBI at 336-303-4840.  This remains an ongoing investigation.  No other details are available at this time.  Mabe’s mug shot can be obtained from the Forsyth County Detention Center.
