SBI AGENTS ARREST FORMER RANDOLPH COUNTY DETENTION OFFICER

Raleigh, NC (September 25, 2019) – The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has arrested a former detention officer with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.  Special Agents with the Diversion and Environmental Crimes Unit (DECU) have charged 37-year-old Lane Greene with three counts of obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation and withholding information, also referred to as doctor shopping.  Greene turned himself in at the Moore County Sheriff’s Office just before noon on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.  He went before a magistrate and received a written promise to appear.  His first court appearance is scheduled for Friday, September 27, 2019, at 9:30 am at the Randolph County Courthouse. 

 

This investigation began on August 2, 2019, after the SBI was notified by a concerned healthcare provider.  No additional information is available.  A mug shot can be requested from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
