(ROBERSONVILLE, NC) - On Thursday, January 30, 2025, at approximately 4:46 p.m., the Robersonville Police Department and the Martin County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) responded to the intersection of West Academy Street and North Roberson Street in Robersonville, NC. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local medical facility for treatment.

Since the incident in January, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has been pursuing all leads related to the case. As a result, Zy'Kevious Sherod was arrested yesterday afternoon in Greenville, NC. He is facing several charges, including:

- Attempted first-degree murder
- Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill
- Two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling

Sherod is currently being held at the Pitt County Detention Center under a one-million-dollar bond.
