NC SBI Sex Crimes Sting

Last week, the North Carolina SBI Computer Crimes Unit participated in the execution of ten search warrants across the state related to Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC). Seven of these search warrants resulted in the arrest of suspects, while three are still pending further investigation and processing of the seized evidence. These investigations cleared dozens of CyberTips received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) concerning the solicitation or sexual exploitation of children.

The SBI Computer Crimes Unit leads the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Task Force, which consists of nearly 250 agencies across the state, all dedicated to protecting the most vulnerable members of our society. We greatly value their partnership in this critical work!
