Support Services
Support Services oversees training, financial services, case record management, criminal information and identification, information technology and logistics as the support role in the SBI mission to fight crime in North Carolina.

This division includes the following sections:

Financial Services
Responsible for management of state fiscal resources.

Logistics Support oversees purchasing and equipment for the SBI, provides asset management and coordinates Bureau communications by phone, courier and travel. They also coordinate capital construction and renovation projects.  

Information Technology
The Information Technology section is responsible for the design, development and deployment of new business applications and continuous, 24-hour support of existing applications for the SBI. 

Case Records Management
The Case Records Management Section maintains investigative files, crime classification coding and control dissemination of SBI investigative reports. The section also provides transcription services for SBI's special agents.

FBI National Incident-Based Reporting/Uniform Crime Report
Support Services staff members collect crime data from law enforcement across North Carolina and compile it for the FBI's National Incident-Based Reporting System and for the North Carolina's Uniform Crime Report. The data is used by the governor to measure crime in North Carolina, and it is published and disseminated nationwide. The SBI is the only agency in North Carolina that collects crime data for the FBI.

Criminal Information and Identification Section
The SBI is North Carolina's central repository for Criminal History Record Information based on fingerprint identification.

This unit is responsible for developing and teaching courses to law enforcement and SBI personnel.
