SAFIS

This section is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of all SAFIS activities. The section coordinates activities with Department of Justice IT Division, the SBI's Criminal Information and Identification Section, the SBI's Latent Evidence Section and more than 100 local, state, and federal users.

The North Carolina SAFIS Network is one of the largest networks in the United States. The state has hosted benchmarks and tours for numerous countries interested in the network and its operations. North Carolina was the second state to electronically submit fingerprints to the FBI.
