Training Unit
Criminal information Training Specialists are assigned to one of eight districts to assist local agencies. They serve as regional instructors and coordinators for various programs maintained by the Section. Work includes evaluating training needs, researching course content, designing course objectives, constructing outlines, composing course narratives, compiling measures of evaluation or testing, scheduling training sessions, assimilating course materials, and presenting classroom instruction. Work involves extensive consulting with governmental officials to assess the needs of requesting jurisdictions and coordinating the proper training to meet these needs.
Training Specialists are responsible for developing curricula and teaching courses for training criminal justice personnel. Training includes the operation and uses of the End User Interface (EUI) for DCIN. This Unit also assists the Compliance Unit in verifying agencies maintain complete and accurate DCIN records.
