Human Resources
The Human Resources Section is responsible for the
following areas:
The
SBI Hiring Process is designed to select the most qualified candidate
for employment for both sworn and non-sworn positions. We strive for an objective
and fair process that complies with mandated Criminal Justice Education and Training
Standards Commission rules for sworn personnel. This section oversees selection
review boards and coordinates all aspects of the selection process. This includes
oversight of the background investigation conducted on all SBI Employees, Polygraph
Examination, Psychological Testing and Medical Exam including Drug Screen and
Physical Fitness Assessment.
The Career Development Program provides agents with promotional guidelines which allow them to advance through their career with the Bureau. This applies to agents I, II, and III. Consideration is given to job performance, training, and time in grade.
Psychological Consulting is a health and safety program that provides assistance to Bureau Agents after traumatic shooting incidents that may effect job performance. A Bureau agent is provided at least a one-hour psychological session with a psychologist retained by the Bureau.
The Medical Program is designed to oversee a prevention and treatment plan for sworn personnel. It attends to the unique medical aspects of our agency and helps to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements as well as state and federal law.
