Homicide Investigation of Siler City Man Continues

The homicide investigation of Esau Abraham Brenes, 25, continues as charges are brought against one local man.


Francisco Rivas Galves-Huezo, 21, has been charged with first degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon for his role in the death of Brenes. Galves-Huezo was reported missing and his current whereabouts are unknown. The warrants for the arrest of Galves-Huezo are currently outstanding as law enforcement efforts to locate him continue.

Esau Abraham Brenes was last seen in Siler City on October 4th before being reported missing later. Law enforcement officers initiated a search for Brenes that continued over the following three weeks.

This is a joint investigation conducted by the Siler City Police Department, Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation. The investigation into Brenes’ death continues as all leads and information are currently being pursued.
