The State Bureau of Investigation Training Section develops and provides training to all sworn and non-sworn SBI employees to enable them to provide the best possible assistance to local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in North Carolina. 
 
The SBI is mandated by law to assist law enforcement in North Carolina with the investigation of crimes. To meet this responsibility, SBI personnel are provided with the best possible education and training development opportunities. 

The development and maintenance of a high level of training within the Bureau and the availability of SBI services to local, state and federal agencies provides essential cost effective assistance and expertise in the identification and apprehension of criminals.

The Training Section is responsible for Career Development for all employees, to include developing the required training for each sworn agent level and prerequisites for management development.
